The advantage of rapid prototyping processes for the production of prototypes is the short delivery time for the first fully functional prototype parts. The processes used are exclusively for mold and core production from near-series materials. From the foundry's point of view, attention is paid to the sensible use of rapid prototyping processes. The production conditions and restrictions to be considered for series production are already taken into account during prototype production and - such as difficult core assemblies - are even tested. This means that manufacturing surprises at the start of series production can be avoided in advance.

In many cases, the time advantage of rapid prototyping processes far outweighs the relatively high unit costs for these prototypes. Investments in tools that are not suitable for series production are thus avoided at the prototype stage and open up new possibilities for developers. Various design drafts can be examined for their suitability in technical trials before a well-founded decision is made on the best solution.

This enables us to offer our customers a short time-to-market and reduce the challenges in series production.
